Japan Society for Sport and Gender Studies (JSSGS)

The 20th Annual Conference

In preparation for the 20th anniversary of JSSGS in 2022, we will review the research trends within and outside the academic society over the past 20 years. In FY2021, we will first conduct a domestic review of sports and gender research fields to understand the results and current situation and then organize future issues. We will also continue to examine how social organizations have changed/are about to change in response to the sexist remarks made by the former chair of the Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee in February 2021. Through such work, we would like to depict sports, physical education, and physical activity in Japan after Tokyo 2020 and after COVID‑19. Due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, the 20th Annual Conference will also be held online. We hope that many of you will be able to join us.
