The Safe Sport International Global Conference, to be held on September18-20 in London, UK is entitled “ Hope I Healing I Transformation”. There is a special focus on translating the science into practical application. On the 18th, there will be a research symposium to showcase the latest evidence in the field of safeguarding, hosted by IRNOVIS “International Research Network on Violence and Integrity in Sports”.
Professor/ Dr. Margo Mountjoy (MD, PhD – McMaster University, CANADA) is a member of the WSI Board. She is also a member of the IRNOVIS research network. As such, she will co-host the research day on 18 September 2023. During the Safe Sport International Global Conference, Margo will present a symposium in collaboration with Dr. Tine Vertommen (Criminology – Thomas More University, Belgium) and Professor Sylvie Parent (Universite de Laval, Quebec, Canada). The topic of the symposium is “Safeguarding athletes from harassment & abuse: Where are we and how can we improve?” This session will be a practical knowledge translation session identifying underpinning research as it applies to clinical application.
