WSI STATEMENT ON GENDER INEQUITY IN JAPANESE SPORT SOCIETY

WomenSport International (WSI) completely supports the statements from the International Working Group (IWG) Statement, the Japan Society for Sport and Gender Studies (JSSGS), Human Rights Now on the sexist comment made by Mr. Yoshiro Mori’s, the President Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee. We call for urgency to directly face the gender inequity that is rooted deeply in the Japanese sport society and take actions for meaningful changes.

More than 80 organizations from the five continents prepare for the United Through Sports World Virtual Youth Festival 2020. The 5-day event starts with the opening ceremony which will be aired on the Olympic Channel at 7PM (ICT) on November 20^th and ends with the Closing Ceremony at 7PM (ICT) on November 22.

This September Norwegian Ski Federation and Lillehammer Olympic Legacy center hosted the first digital training-camp for Women Nordic Combined with great support from FIS. Per-Erik Mæhlum, Olympic Legacy center and Linda Svendsrud, Norwegian Ski Federation reported to the FIS Nordic Combined committee last week.
